The Weider Power Tower is one of the best power towers on the market.

It is for anybody who wants to improve their strength and resistance at home, no matter their fitness level. It targets specific muscle groups by utilizing your own body weight.

The Weider Power Tower takes up limited space and includes a knee raise station, a multi-grip pull-up station, a dip-station and a push-up station.

You can create up to 15 different variations of body weight exercises with this one piece of equipment.

The Weider name is synonymous with health and fitness worldwide. Their products are being sold in 120 countries across the globe.

Not all power towers are created equal.

Here’s a few things you might want to consider before investing in your power tower. It could save you frustration in the long run as the power tower is not for everyone.

The price for power towers ranges from very affordable to expensive. Some power towers also come with a standard service plan.

It  is a tall piece of equipment and you need to have ample space for it. Ensure there is enough space between the ceiling and the pull-up bar for your head.

Most power towers are suitable for straight forward body weight workouts. They are unsafe for any explosive workouts, like kipping pull-ups and muscle ups, unless they’re bolted to the ground.

The Weider Power Tower provides everything you need to tone, build muscle and lose unwanted inches.

You can do a variety of exercises including sit-ups, knee raises, straight leg raises, pull-ups, reverse grip pull-ups and core exercises.

The Weider Power Tower is constructed using heavy steel and high-quality materials and weighs about 90 pounds.

It features a durable steel frame for proper support; no-slip end caps; comfortable and functional design, with sizable forearm cushions and backrest.

This is not a “pack-up-and-go” foldable piece of equipment. Because of its weight and size, the Weider Power Tower should be assembled in the location where it will be used.

The Weider Power Tower is not for outdoor use.

With a footprint of 30 inches wide by 60 inches deep, it doesn’t take up a ton of floor space as opposed to some of the other power towers on the market.

The Weider Power Tower is not difficult to assemble, but I do recommend you get yourself a metric socket and wrench set to make things easier for you.

The box it arrives in is quite big, so an extra pair of hands will make things less frustrating.

It will take you about 1-2 hours to assemble the Power Tower. You don’t need anybody to help you with the assembly, although they do advise that 2 persons are needed.

There is a detailed instruction booklet, with numbered product parts that show you step-by-step instructions on how to assemble the equipment.

Pictures will guide you through the process. You cannot really miss anything if you follow the steps. Make sure the unit is level before tightening all the screws.

You also might want to check if you will need extra rubber floor covering below the equipment to prevent it from sliding or wobbling if your floor is uneven.

It’s almost impossible to find a free-standing power tower that’s rock solid on the floor, unless of course it’s fixed to the ground.

The Weider Power Tower comes with extended stabilizers which gives it additional stability.

The Weider Power Tower weighs 86 pounds and has a 300-pound weight capacity. The dimensions are 53.2 x 43.3 x 86.6 inches.

The Weider Power Toweris quite tall, so it’s well suitable for taller individuals.

The pull-up bar is approximately 42 inches wide and it stands 84 inches high. This provides a much better training experience for taller people.

One downside is that you cannot lower the height of the pull-up bar.

If you have a ceiling that’s less than 7 feet 80 inches, you’re probably not going to have enough room for your head when you do pull-ups.

The Weider Power Tower features vinyl seats and arm cushions, which are built to last and are designed with a comfortable padding. No more padding sinking in after a month or sore elbows.

The grips on the bar are comfortable and feel secure even if your hands get sweaty.

The bottom of the power tower frame has a steel horizontal bar that can be used as a safety bar.

This bar – also commonly known as a spotter’s bar – comes in very handy for assisted pull-ups. Resting your legs on this bottom horizontal bar will take some of the weight off your arms.

Featuring 4 workout stations, the Weider Power Tower delivers a customized workout in a confined space.

You can build strength and stability in your entire body. You can target and tone your core, arms, shoulders, back and chest.

Pull-ups is an excellent compound exercise that works your biceps, triceps, forearms, wrists, lats, shoulders and core.

The padded hand grips are comfortable and will prevent sore hands. It allows you to do both pull-ups and chin-ups as well as chest to bar pull-ups.

The pull-up bar can also be used to do the following exercises:

  • Hanging knee raises and leg raises, which is a great abdominal exercise.
  • L-hang sliders and windshield wipers, which tones and strengthens  your obliques
  • Strict toes to bar, which exercises your lats and shoulder mobility
  • L-hang, which is great to maintain a tight core

The Weider Power Tower has adequate space to perform a dip to effectively target your arm muscles.  Performing dips will work your pecs, anterior deltoids and triceps.

The vertical knee raise station develops your midsection as well as your abdominal muscles. It will also improve obliques and hip flexor strength.

Supported with comfortable padded armrests and back cushions, this is suitable for both knee and leg raises.

The push up station features moulded hand grips for comfort and security. It’s easy to use for beginners who would probably start with an assisted push-up.

It can also provide a challenging deficit push-up exercise for more advanced athletes.

The Weider Power Tower is an affordable piece of home gym equipment. It offers a variety of exercise options.

It also comes with a standard service plan which allows for unlimited in-home repairs.

The Weider Power Tower has received many positive feedbacks. Here are some of them.

If you’re looking for something more sophisticated and expensive, the Bowflex Body Tower is definitely one to look at.

This power tower is known for its versatility and it tops the range of exercises you can do on this unit.  It’s one of the only power towers on the market that allows for good quality leg exercises, thus giving you a full body workout.

Despite the quality heavy steel frame and wide, angled base, this unit is quite short. At 6,5 inches, it’s one of the shortest power towers on the market.

The Gold’s Gym XR 10.9 Power Tower is another good option. It’s well designed and built with strong steel and quality cushions.

It’s also inexpensive. It does have a relatively wide base, so you will need to make sure you have ample space for this one.

The XR is 7-foot-tall and is therefore a great option for tall individuals.

The downside of this unit is that the dip bars are further apart to support the wider base, so if you have narrower shoulders, you might find this unit uncomfortable to use.

Overall, the Weider Power Tower is a very well made and solidly built piece of equipment. It’s made of durable steel tubing and is designed to last for years.

If it’s important to you to find a sturdy power tower, this may be a good place to start.
